Innovation and opportunities at Spring Fair 2010
An additional hall for Gift & Home exhibitors is to be added for Spring Fair International 2010 (February 7-11 2010) as confidence begins to return to the marketplace. The organisers report that Gift & Home suppliers have virtually filled halls 6, 7 and 20 and Hall 9 will now be used to extend this offering.
Louise Young, MD of Emap Connect Home & Gift told giftwrap: “When we planned the layout for Spring Fair 2010, it was based on the economic position at that time. Happily, we now appear to be turning the corner and all the indications from Autumn Fair International suggest that people want to spend money again. This is encouraging exhibitors to increase the size of their stands and new companies to book space.”
Hall 9 will be an integral part of the Gift & Home sector but Emap says that it wants to give the hall an international flavour and is talking to a number of well-known European brands as well as smaller home-grown businesses.
Another new development at the show is the fact that Totally Tools, Totally DIY and Totally Secure shows have been absorbed into the event and will now sit alongside the Outdoor Living exhibitors, all of which will now be showing in Hall 10.
Hall 3 will also sport a brand new feature - Spotlight on Contemporary Gifts which is to be launched in the Greetings & Stationery Hall following consultation with exhibitors to create greater opportunities for crossover buying. This will be complemented by Design Gap, which is to mark its 30th anniversary next year and will be relocated to Hall 3 for Spring Fair International 2010.
Visitors to the world’s largest greeting card and stationery hall will also have the chance to peruse the latest Cardgains Village, which for several years has been a key feature of the show, located at the heart of Hall 3.
Completing the array of brand new initiatives for the greetings sector is the Fresh! feature, a beautifully edited collection of gifts, greeting cards and jewellery, that will effectively replicate the look and feel of a high-end gift shop.
There will be some 300,000 products launched at the show across nine product categories, including: Art & Framing; Fashion Accessories; Festive & Floral; Gift & Home; Greetings & Stationery; Kitchen, Dining & Housewares; Toys & Party; The Jewellery Show; Volume Gift & Home.
