Credit Circles/Online Credit Community

Sharing information on bad debts.

Credit Circle Meetings

The GA’s Credit Circle Discussion Groups take place three times a year and offer participants an extremely valuable face to face forum, for exchanging information on poor payers and outstanding accounts.  A small fee is charged to participants to take part in these meetings but new participants are invited to attend their first meeting free of charge to see how beneficial the service is for their business.

"I would wholeheartedly recommend credit managers and controllers to get involved in the GA Credit Circle Meeting.  The exchange of payment trends and professional information is very useful.  It is good to be able to speak to other people who understand exactly what you do and to learn how other managers approach the same problems.  Credit controllers, by the nature of their job are always rather isolated.  You could say we are the pariahs in the company so it's good to meet with other pariahs who really understand where you are coming from!"  Financial Controller, GA Supplier member

The GA, in partnership with Equifax, have introduced the Gift and Home Industry Credit Community.

When making business lending and account opening decisions it is important to see as much relevant information about your customers as possible.

However, recent changes in account filing regulations and the expansion in the number of non-limited businesses and sole traders, means there is less accounting information readily available.

Members of the Credit Community have the facility to update and share both negative and positive information on individual customers.  Furthermore, a unique email alert system enables members to respond immediately to any changes in a customer's credit or financial status.
