British Jewellery & Giftware Exports, the long-standing export division of the BJGF Federation (the umbrella organisation of which The GA is a part, has changed its name and expanded the range of services it offers to include a completely new range of import services.

“The newly named ‘British Jewellery & Giftware International’  now offers a range of services and benefits which reflect the changing dynamics within our industry, and reflect the demands of today’s gift, jewellery, home and travel goods industries. Our import services will run alongside and complement our existing range of export-related benefits and services, and will provide an irresistible offer for companies of all sizes,” the department’s manager, Mike Josypenko told giftwrap.

So what exactly is on offer?

“We shall be offering advice to importers across a broad spectrum covering everything from tariff information to recommending reliable shipping companies,” says Mike.

The department has also set up deals with a number of freight carriers and members will receive a BJGF rate on shipments from China, Thailand, Indonesia and other major Asian markets.  The idea is that smaller members, who may perhaps be bringing in relatively small quantities of product from these countries, can take advantage of consolidation.

“Our plan is to provide a good quality, reliable service across a comprehensive network which is what importers need in times like this,” says Mike.
