Business Development Role with j-me
j-me designs and manufactures a range of witty & functional products for the home. All products are original ideas by j-me and we sell to retailers around the world as well as from our website www.j-me.co.uk
Duties: j-me is a well established and fast growing company designing and distributing a range of design-led gifts & living accessories worldwide. We are looking for a highly motivated business development (sales) professional to help us move the business to the next level.
Working within our team the successful candidate will be focusing on UK and export sales and building customer relationships. We want somebody who can think outside of the box and who can use their imagination and intelligence in their approach to identifying new business opportunities. It is also important that the successful candidate show real entrepreneurial flair as he/she will be expected to quickly identify and secure new business.

The core responsibilities of the position include:
• The generation of new prospects/leads including department stores, internet retailers, independent retailers, mail order and export opportunities.
• Development of strong & profitable relationships with existing and new clients in order to maintain and increase sales.
• Attendance at Trade Shows in the UK.
• Visiting major clients in the UK.
• Ensuring that every customer is dealt with in a professional and courteous manner and the identification of any potential issues with customers before they become a concern.
• Handling of inward client queries through phone calls and emails.
• Utilising retailer feedback to provide information for new product development.
Requirements: The successful applicant will have the following qualities and skills:
• Excellent inter-personal skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to communicate with people at all levels
• Good computer skills in excel, word, outlook & database management
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• The ability to manage, organise and co-ordinate workloads
• Ability to listen, understand and tactically resolve any possible client/team queries
• Good people & influencing skills
• Be highly driven and motivated with ambition
• Be able to work well under pressure
• Have customer service experience
• Ability to think out of the box
• Be determined, and capable of making their own business decisions and generally working autonomously
The successful applicant will have the following personal attributes:
• Love, good knowledge & appreciation of good food
• A sweet tooth is preferred but not essential
• Open minded with very dry sense of humour
• An abundance of wit
Hours: 8 hours per day
Salary: £18,000 - 20,000 per annum
