NEW E-SHOP FULFILMENT SERVICE

New service offers simple e-shop fulfilment support

The GA has recently struck a deal with E-Warehousing.co.uk to provide a new, discounted, fulfilment service for members. If your spare bedroom and garage are full of your goods and your days are spent in post office queues, this could be for you.

The purpose of our business is to support on-line and mail order companies in the delivery of their orders. We like to work extremely closely with our customers and our aim is to become the crucial link between their sales platform and their warehouse,” says Paul Seward, MD of E-Warehousing.co.uk

Paul, who has 25 years experience in the warehousing business, set up E-Warehousing 18 months ago. The parent company Kenilworth Storage was started 10 years ago after having successfully sold a previous company which specialised in transporting freight to and from Spain. Paul now has some 35,000 sq ft of secure warehousing in Kenilworth, at the heart of the UK's motorway system. The warehouse, which is manned 24 hours a day, is offering gift and home companies not only affordable and flexible storage for their goods but also a 24 hour turn around pick, pack and dispatch service.

Small firms catered for

Unlike some other fulfilment companies, E-Warehousing is able to support not simply large, established businesses but also those just starting out as well. “We offer a starter pack for companies and our pricing structure starts from £60. This includes 1 shelf 10' x 2' x 3' (space for around two pallets worth of goods), password protected access to your own back office system, one hour’s picking and packing time. Any extra time is charged at £15 per hour pro-rata thereafter. If you only use an extra ten minutes of our warehouseman's time then ten minutes is all you will pay for,” Paul told me when we met at Spring Fair.

“You can take as many shelves as you want. We can tailor-make a quote to suit your individual business needs, from a bespoke pricing structure, to a package to include bulk pallet storage and seasonal peaks,” he explained.

Thanks to the scale of its business, E-Warehousing is able to achieve extremely favourable rates from the courier services it uses and, another plus of using its services is that it is prepared to pass these savings onto its customers.

“People often think they are saving money by storing products in their homes, but if they factor in all the administration, the trips to the Post Office, the time spent queuing, the cost of couriers and the general hassle, the chances are that it would be far more cost-effective to out-source this part of their business,” explains Paul.

GREAT SAVINGS FOR GA MEMBERS

The good news for GA members is that thanks to E-Warehousing's deal with the Association - warehousing just became even more cost effective. “We are prepared to offer GA members a 10% discount on their first 12 months of trading with us,” says Paul. For companies who already have a thriving e-business this represents a considerable saving, while for newcomers it may just be the incentive they need to outsource their order fulfilment.

So how does it all work? “We work closely with each individual customer to find the best solution for them and their business. Our ethos is one of partnership. We see ourselves as our customers' warehouse partner and we will do all we can to help them make their business grow. We have an extremely sophisticated bar-coded order tracking and stock-control systems in place and our customers have access to their stock positions at any time,” explains Paul.

As well as simply warehousing and picking and packing, E-Warehousing offers a range of other services. It can store `ugly freight' - where items are too large, or too ungainly to fit onto a regular pallet. Kit and assembly work is also available for promotional materials, exhibitions and goody bags. Drop shipping can also be arranged.

Paul and his team are very happy to meet with potential customers, with absolutely no obligation, to explain more about the E-Warehousing service and the way in which it can assist them to grow their ‘e-shop’ and mail order businesses.
