Gift of the Year

Gift of the Year judges and The Giftware Association’s retail members became talent scouts at Spring Fair.

They have recommended to The GA those companies whose products they think worthy of entry into this year’s competition.

Says chief executive Isabel Martinson: “Retailers are very excited about the wonderful selection of new product they have found at the show, so this year’s Gift of the Year promises to be a cracker.

“We have information about these companies – and the products which have been recommended - and will be contacting them before the entry deadline of 8th April to urge them to take part.

“A number of Gift of the Year winners tell me that their success in the competition has quite literally put their company on the map and resulted in some fantastic orders.

“But irrespective of whether they are shortlisted, highly commended or actually win, the products of companies that enter will be seen by high-profile retailers who might not have discovered them at trade shows. And we know from previous experience that even those products that get no further than the first round are ordered by the retailer judges that like them.”

Companies wanting to increase their chances of success are being invited, where appropriate, to submit products in different categories. In February The GA ran a special promotion enabling suppliers to enter four products for the price of three.
