AGENTS LEGISLATION
The law relating to the employment of agents continues to be of concern to members of the GA. As interpretation of the legislation continues to shift we are holding a seminar to offer practical guidance on taking on an agent while updating members and offering possible solutions.
Any firm that employs sales agents should have in place proper legal contracts with their agents. Even years after the legislation governing the employment of agents was introduced in the UK many firms have still not addressed this issue.
The directive is binding and applies whether or not you have an existing written contract in place with your agents. The Directive also gives agents a number of rights, which under previous UK law they did not enjoy.
